Trout Fishing Report for Bennett Spring
Fishing conditions have been pretty tough for a while. As one angler told me, "I don't mind freezing legs and a blazing hot head, as long at I can catch fish!" The weather is finally going to give us a bit of a break. There is no significant chance of rain and temperatures in the low 90's for the entire week and weekend.
The water remains clear and low, despite the showers we had the other day. For anglers who prefer to sight fish, now is the time. For the top water angler, terrestrials are doing quite well. That being said, interestingly, one of the lures we are selling the most of is a marabou with an eighth ounce head. If you have a favorite deep pool, this would be a great lure. We've had a run on red & black marabou in particular. We called our supplier to put together a quick order of this color for us. The other color that is good right now, in almost every type of lure from dough bait to a fur bug, is peach. Regardless of the type of fishing you like, it's always a great time when you come back to the Spring.
