Bennett Spring Trout Fishing Report
December 21, 2016
We continue to get great reports on fishing conditions, both for the catch-and-release weekends in the Bennett Spring Park Branch and for the Niangua River. For those that love the top water action, this is a great time of year. While the classic renegades and cracklebacks will work well, this is a great time to try out that new fly that just came off the bench.
Dredging of the stream has begun by the roller dam. As I have said before, fish safely and give that big dredging machine a wide berth. There are good fish to be caught in the Spring Hole and in Zone Two.
The stream is changing, but hopefully this time it will be for the better.
Catch and release began on November 11, 2016 for the trout parks of Missouri
8 am to 4 pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday only

The first principle in all fishing is simple: never let the fish know he's being fished for.
