How's Fishing
This coming weekend is Kid's Fishing Day at Bennett.  The weather looks like it will be cooperating for a change!  It is forecast to be sunny and warm all weekend.  The hatchery typically stocks extra fish in the kids area to insure that the kiddos have the best chance they can have of catching a fish. Anglers who may not make the under 15 age requirement can fish zones one and three.  After the kids leave the zone 2 area, there are still extra fish to be had in that zone, so keep that in mind for your weekend plans.
Events for the day include fly tying and educational booths set up down by the stream.  The Fly Tyers Association will be there as well as the Department of Natural Resources.  For more information call the Bennett Spring Hatchery at 417-532-4418.

There is also a rod give away that will be happening.  After his passing, Lawrence Murphy left a sum of money that was earmarked for this. There is a very nice story about this man and his legacy in the Trout Talk this month.
